In March 2022, Barid Al Maghrib issued a series of three stamps featuring three prominent Moroccan female figures. To the right is Fatema Mernissi’s stamp!

In February 2022, the Lycèe Descartes in Rabat named one of its halls after Fatema Mernissi.

In 2021, the Africa Institute of Sharjah endowed an annual  Fatema Mernissi Fellowship.

In 2020, MESA (Middle East Studies Organization) established an annual  Fatema Mernissi  BOOK AWARD, which annually honors the best work in studies of gender, sexuality, and women's lived experience..

In 2019, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) created a Fatema Mernissi Chair.

In 2017, the Free  University of Brussels established a Fatema Mernissi "chaire culturelle de la sociologie.

In 2016, the University Mohammed V and the Business School HEM jointly established a Fatema Mernissi Chair.

In 2004,  the Erasmus Foundation awarded one of its  annual  prizes to Fatema Mernissi.

In 2003, Fatema Mernissi (along with Susan Sontag) was honored with the Prince Asturias Award.
